More Witness Statements Bolster Ramona Bautista as Suspect to Ram Revilla's Murder

Ram Revilla was laid to rest on Wednesday, November 2, 2011, but the results of the police investigations seem to be unacceptable for the Revilla clan.

The investigation links Ram's siblings Ramon Joseph and Ramona Mara Bautista to the murder of the young actor.

The statement from Ram's girlfriend Janelle Manahan bolstered police theories that Ramona was involved in the incident.

According to Janelle, who is currently recovering at the Asian Hospital, it was past 11 PM when Ramona knocked on Ram's bedroom to get a video from his brother. After Ramona entered the room, a man wearing a Halloween mask, army green jacket and holding a gun with silencer followed her inside. He fired the gun twice at Ram.

Janelle also recounted the fact that she heard Ramona shout "Tama na! Tama na!" while the gunman was firing the gun. Those shouted words raised some questions. Was it shouted pleadingly or authoritatively?

Janelle, who sustained gunshot wounds on the left side of her face, further said that she told Ramona to call for help. Ramona allegedly said she was rattled and instead called her brother Joseph. The brother, though, wouldn't answer the call. Then Ramona allegedly left the room to get help.

The statements of Ram Revilla's production assistant did not help Ramona as well. The PA, who was in Ram's house that night, said that through his window, he saw Ramona and Joseph casually leave the house on foot. That same statement was supported by the subdivision's guard who said he saw a familiar male face and Ramona walk out of the subdivision gate.

Those statements were in contrast to that of Ramona's who told the police she was kidnapped by the killers and was eventually dropped off in front of a Las Piñas mall.

"When we started to piece all these information together, all the circumstances together, e nakakalungkot po talaga na talagang nagli-lead po doon sa close family members," said Sr. Supt. Billy Beltran.

Aside from being named by witness Ruel Puzon as the mastermind of the crime, Joseph was also pointed at by the other two arrested suspects. Two BF Homes guards also saw Joseph in front of the house and walking out of the subdivision with his sister Ramona near midnight of October 28.

Cellphones of the suspects were also in the hands of the authorities. The police examined the suspects' exchange of messages during and after the crime. The police said the text message about the said P19,000 downpayment of Joseph to the gunmen were still there.
