Georgina Wilson Tops Yahoo! Search Trend

Georgina Wilson lead Yahoo! Philippines trending searches in the early part of November. Thanks to Bench for sending her to Greece to be the guest model and stylist for the semi-final round of America's Next Top Model All Stars.

Georgina Wilson was the one who told the contestants what to do in the photoshoot while they don pairs of Bench Body underwear.

The model/VJ announced her appearance on the hit reality show on November 9th through Twitter. The said ANTM episode aired in the country November 14th in ETC.

Georgina became the top trending search on Yahoo! on the second week of November (7 to 13).

Google Chrome Remote Desktop BETA

Google Chrome has just released a remote desktop extension that will let users access another computer or share their own computer with other Chrome users that they authenticate to give access.

Released on October 7, 2011, Chrome Remote Desktop BETA is now available for free at the Chrome Web Store where its description goes as follows:

Chrome Remote Desktop BETA is the first installment on a capability allowing users to remotely access another computer through the Chrome browser or a Chromebook.

The goal of this beta release is to demonstrate the core Chrome Remoting technology and get feedback from users. This version enables users to share with or get access to another computer by providing a one-time authentication code. Access is given only to the specific person the user identifies for one time only, and the sharing session is fully secured. One potential use of this version is the remote IT helpdesk case. The helpdesk can use the Chrome Remote Desktop BETA to help another user, while conversely a user can receive help by setting up a sharing session without leaving their desk. Additional use cases such as being able to access your own computer remotely are coming soon.

Chrome Remote Desktop BETA is fully cross-platform, so you can connect any two computers that have a Chrome browser, including Windows, Linux, Mac and Chromebooks.

YouTube Philippines Launches

The Philippine version of YouTube has been officially launched today, October 13, 2011 at the Blue Leaf Tent in Taguig City. The country is the first to have its local version of the online video sharing site in Southeast Asia and 34th in the world.

The local version of the site can be accessed by choosing "The Philippines" in the location setting at the bottom part of YouTube's homepage.

YouTube has signed up local partners such as GMA-7, ABS-CBN, TV5, Star Records, Viva Records and Vicor Records as well as the Filipino Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (Filscap) to make the site more Pinoy.

Looking back, YouTube has been an integral part in the discovery of the international singing sensation Charice as well as Arnel Pineda. It has also become a form of expression for the young generation to whom videos have become a part of life.

As internet becomes mainstream in the Philippines, the local version of YouTube provides us with an easier way to reach Pinoys all over the world. In line with that, YouTube also launched the updated presidential channel from President Noynoy Aquino III at www.youtube.com/govph and www.youtube.com/rtvmalacanang.

President Aquino will also participate in the YouTube World View live interview making him the very first president in Asia to participate in the program which happens on November 4th.

PNoy was supposed to attend the launch but it was Secretary Ricky Carandang who showed up to read the president's message. Watch the speech in the video from www.youtube.com/rtvmalacanang.

I know most of us are thrilled with this YouTube development. I just hope, though, that we won't be bombarded with menu names and descriptions in Tagalog because that really makes things more complicated. Don't get me wrong. I'm sure I'm not alone in this. And changing the language settings can sometimes be quite a confusion.
