Carlos Agassi has admitted that he had a relationship with a gay man for about a year during his teens.
He made the revelation during a press conference for Praybeyt Benjamin, a movie about a gay man who joined the military for his father. And since it was the subject of the movie, questions to the male cast about homosexual relationships popped up.
Carlos was honest enough to admit that he indeed had a relationship with a discreet gay when he was 17 or 18 years old. He said he learned a lot in the relationship and that it made him a better person.
The hunky actor also shared that he was the one courted. He liked the gay man's company and that's what mattered for him. And when you enjoy each other's company, "Sex follows," he added.
Just like any other relationships, they had their share of good and bad moments, and quarrels that eventually led to a break-up.
He has come to respect his partner, and although not together anymore, they talk like old friends when they bump into each other.
Forum threads were making wild guesses with regards to the identity of the gay man Carlos was referring to. The name of an ABS-CBN executive popped up but, of course, we have no way of knowing that for sure.
Meanwhile, it wasn't only Carlos Agassi who made a revelation. Veteral actor Eddie Garcia also shared that he had a relationship with a gay man when he was about fifteen years old. Young and adventurous, he wanted to try things. "Kailangan lahat ng bagay sa mundo, kailangan mong subukan," the respected actor said.
